Good News, Bad News

Today I hung solar lights at the lake. After sunset, Ray, Anna and I went to check them out. The lights? Well they looked great. A lovely addition to the waterfront. But it’s what else we found that wasn’t so great.....

A beaver!! Swimming back and forth, right in front of the dock. Ugh!! It was just this afternoon, Ray cut up, hauled and chopped two huge birch trees that a beaver had taken down 3 years ago. And we were commenting how grateful we were that we hadn’t seen much beaver activity at all since. And then this guy shows up. Clearly we spoke too soon.

And the way the beaver swam back and forth, back and forth in front of the dock. Oblivious to us being right there. Swear to god, he was taunting us. “I’m back...!”

(But hey, how about those lights??)
